Garmin Nuvi 660 Reviews

Which GPS device or sat nav is the best one for you? It doesn’t matter how much money you have or what your budget might be, there should be something for everyone.  There is no doubt that the market is changing as around 6 years ago, the GPS market is very different to how it is today.  If you wanted to buy a GPS or sat nav then they were very expensive and not always that good in truth – but hey, it was a relatively new and un-adopted technology at the time.

You might remember that those dark screens were not that easy to read, the robotic voice commands were only packaged up with the more expensive sat navs, and quite often the device was not as reliable as it promised to be when you purchased it.

2008 however has seen a change as the market for GPS and sat nav is now a huge one.  There are plenty of different companies in competition who all want to lead the market – and as a result the prices have come down significantly and you will no longer see products ranging in price from £600 or $1000 Dollars.

We thought it was a great time to have a closer look at what’s available to buy today – there is a sat nav or GPS for everyone in this list with all possible requirements taken care of.  If you are thinking about buying one today then look no further at our list of the top seven sat nav and GPS products that you can get your hands on in the Summer of 2008!

Garmin Nuvi 660

This is a great device for people with a higher budget as the Garmin Nuvi 660 is worth every single penny or cent that you spend on it.  This GPS truly does go beyond the call of duty that drivers would expect from a satellite navigation device.  The design is superb and it sits neatly inside a cradle on your dash meaning you can get to your destination safely and easily… but why it scores so highly is because it will also help you once you are outside of the car due to the pedestrian directions that are freely bundled with it.  There’s even a foreign language dictionary included for the really adventurous amongst you.

 Sony NVU51G

Similary to Binatone, you might not expect to see a Sony product in a GPS review but that does not mean that this device is not capable of competing with the Garmins and TomToms of this world.  The NVU51G performs well and works to be expected.

Binatone Carrera X430

This might not be a brand name that you would typically think about unless you are looking at quite simple and basic home telephones, however, they’ve just released a great GPS product.  The Binatone Carrera X430 has managed to get a place on our list because it works well and is extremely cheap and great value for money.  If you don’t have much money then this would be a great option for you as there are not many products that come at a better price with as much functionality.

Garmin Nuvi 770

The first thing you will see when looking at this new Garmin is just how slimline it is despite the fact it has a large screen.  Despite being so slim, it doesn’t skrimp on functionality with a built-in speaker, Bluetooth, SD memory card and even a USB connector so you can easily connect it to your PC when downloading new Garmin map updates.

TomTom One XL

This Dutch company are the leaders in Europe, and whilst they don’t come up to the same degree of saturation as Garmin do in the United States, they are definitely a brand to look out for.  It has a large 4.3 inch screen, an easy to use menu system, and plenty more features once you delve into the colorful user-interface.
